A favorite place in North Dakota for many to photograph trains is Sully Springs. The tracks here run through the very scenic Badlands on the outskirts of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Cool early morning temperatures help create a low hanging fog that settles in the low spaces around the layered sedimentary rocks that make up the area. The sunrise just breaks past the surface as this train glides west through western North Dakota.
